Practice: Alternates between these two towers during term time.

The Lincoln University Society of Bell Ringers (LUSBR) welcomes students from all universities in Lincoln and strongly encourage beginners to come and give it a go! Our practices are held between 19:00-21:00 at St Mary-le-Wigford and St Peter-at-Gowts, alternating between the two towers, however, a trip to the pub afterwards is a certainty! As well as weekly ringing, we have our annual dinner and Christmas meal, and regular socials such as our awards evening and trips into the City for some fun.

Whether you’ve been ringing for years or have only just stumbled across the ancient art of change ringing, you can expect a warm and friendly welcome at one of our LUSBR practices. Our practices cater for all abilities with everyone learning something new and developing each week. We’re even entering into the world of handbells too! If you’re interested in coming along, please send us an email (lincolnbellringers@lincolnsu.com) or message us on Instagram (@uolringing) and let us know!

LUSBR is one of many ringing opportunities to get involved with in Lincoln and Lincolnshire as a whole. A wide range of ringing is available across the city and surrounding areas. Our ringers are often seen in other towers such as St Giles, Lincoln and the crown jewel of Lincolnshire, Lincoln Cathedral and its fine peal of 12 bells.

Whilst Lincoln is a city, it’s got a smaller feel to it, so ringing is never too far away! Our home towers of St Mary-le-Wigford and St Peter-at-Gowts are just a 5-10 minute walk away from campus and all university accommodation. St Marys is even situated right next to the train station so you don’t get better transport links than that!
